Increasing Volunteer Diversity

Our next MDVAN meeting will be Thursday, January 29, 2009, 1-3pm. The topic will be “Increasing Volunteer Diversity.” The event will be hosted by Tawanna Ward, Manager of Volunteers and Diversity Consultant for American Red Cross.

Along with other professionals in our field, she will take elements from their nationally-recognized program, 60 Minutes to Greater Awareness, and engage us in a fun, interactive opportunity to add to our professional diversity toolbox. There will be valuable takeaways, exceptional networking opportunities, winter treats and more!

WHERE: American Red Cross, 100 Mack Avenue, Detroit, MI (SE Corner of Woodward & Mack Ave). Parking is free (and there will be a few spots for you to park up front, courtesy of the Red Cross Volunteer Services department).

COST: free for members, $10 for non-members.
